HISTORICAL DWELLING SAN CASCIANO CHIANTI
"After Roman suburb, called today Borgo Sarchiani, there is on the left side along the main road an old and grandiose villa which keeps still now a stately and severe appearance of ancient times, while all around an elegant garden makes charm.
That Villa belonged to Ridolfi family through Fedini family who owned it for many years, giving also the name, which is now still the same "Fedino Palace".
Descending from a Feo of Dino, it had during Republic time many personalities of distinction who managed positions and offices of high responsability. They were Palatini Counts for authorization of Emperor Giovanni Paleologo di Michele who was a prior during Florence Council.
Mr. Niccolò di Bernardo Fedini bought this palace on year 1581 from Mr. Roberto di Ottaviano Acciajuoli, who had bought it few years ago, in 1577, from Mrs. Lucrezia, the wife of Mr. Leonardo de' Nobili.
Mr. Agnolo di Marco Baroncelli, a very rich and famous family and ancient owner of that villa, called also Baccano or Borgiano Palace, sold it in year 1535 to Mrs. Lucrezia." (extract from G. Carocci).
The property passed then from Fedini to Ridolfi and then to Mancini family.
During this time also Mr. Gabriele Dannunzio was a regular customer of this property.
At the beginning of year 1900 the Palace passed into Burroni family and finally some years later it was bought by Mr. Gustavo Checcucci and now his descendants have still the property and they are conducting the restaurant, situated into the old cellars.
